Latest news – Lightley’s Holiday Houseboats
Those of you who’ve had enough of all that rain upcountry should seriously think about escaping down to us on the relatively rain-free Garden Route. Park off in a houseboat, and maybe add a few nights accommodation in one of our spacious timber lodges at Phantom View River Resort. The fishing is great, and the weather is lovely here this time of year.
Valentine’s Day on the Knysna Lagoon
Another thought: Valentine’s Day is coming up soon, and what better way to spend some quality time with your loved one than on the gorgeous Knysna lagoon in one of our houseboats? We’ll give you the red carpet treatment, with chocolates and sparkling wine and flowers when you arrive – all at a special rate.
Special accomodation packages
By the way, do yourself a favour and check out our special breakaway packages, at Knysna and Port Alfred, on our homepage. There’s big savings there.
Visvang nuus
In Port Alfred, our fishing connection Dave Drennan reports that there are many Spotted Grunter and Cob being caught in the Kowie River – co-incidentally where the Lightleys Houseboats have one of their overnight sleeping spots!
The surf has been very cold and mucky, what with all the debris washing down the Fish River into the sea from the floods upcountry – so not much joy there!
However, deepsea is currently looking good now that the cold water is abating – and Dave says Cob, Carpenter and Panga are there for the taking.
OK, after all the serious stuff, a (quick) chuckle:
What did the fish say when it hit a cement wall?
Dam!!
Have a great week!
