<p>Niche Sites have a clear advantage: you target a clearly defined audience, you know what the audience expects and you tune in function of such expectations and beyond.</p>
<p>If your site deals with Wellness, Art, News, Sports, Cars and Strip-tease, you address different target keywords. Even if one and the same person can be interested in all your categories, timing will become important:</p>
<p>If your visitor types into Google: Art and he ends up on a site with the look of a Strip-tease place, your first contact may not trigger the desired empathy. If on the other hand it’s time for a strip and your visitors is searching for that on Google an he then ends up on a site with the look of a weight loss site (with all it implies graphically, he may walk away with utmost frustration :-).</p>
<p>You therefore may notice that Multi-Category and Multi-Target sites keep a rather neutral look, may be news paper like, press like or even very minimalist.</p>

It is now a matter of allocating the content corresponding to a particular topic to the site with the corresponding look to create first impression empathy.</p>

<p>My point is of purely educational nature: Renate is a dear friend and great marketer. But in a way she also is victim of ‘keyword-theft’, ‘name-theft’ or whatever you want to call a sly form of legal identity theft:</p>
<p>Large networks, such a linked-in, facebook, twitter and others grab your name to get <strong>their</strong> websites on top of Google under your neme keyword. Your site, having less authority than the big boys, falls back and often disappears from the top 10, even if you use your name as domain name. The big boys place their ads along with your name, profile or keyword and make the bucks while you, fooled,Â  have thought that they would help you to promote <strong>your</strong> business.</p>

<p>A campaign on a keyword is similar to promoting a URL: keep your focus until the goal is reached before you shift to the next keyword. If and when you shift, make sure you have the necessary resources to campaign for the next keyword while maintaining your achievements on the first target.</p>

<p>Focus on reaching Google Top 10 before you think about web design, graphics, ads and other distractions. If your site can not be found by searchers, no one will ever see your ads or beautiful graphics.</p>

<span id="How_to_reach_Google_Top_10_Positions"><h3>How to reach Google Top 10 Positions?</h3></span>
<p>Over the years we have come across many promising formulas to reach Google Top 10 Positions. Hype Promotion guaranteeing Google Top 10 position on any keyword is sent to your spam box daily and promising, well designed sales pages are even promoted by Google Ads which is in complete contradiction to the products’ claimed merits.</p>
<span id="The_simple_Google_Top_10_Formula"><h3>The simple Google Top 10 Formula</h3></span>
<p>Seriously, nobody can guarantee Google Top 10 positions on any keyword. However there are some clear ways of proceeding to put the best chances on your side of the table. Consider also that Google’s algorithm evolves and the filtering is subject to change. By adopting the following formula you will most likely be successful, very successful.</p>
<span id="Get_a_domain_name_representing_your_keyword."><h3><strong>1. Get a domain name representing your keyword.</strong></h3></span>
<p>For example, keyword.com</p>
<p>Don’t tell me the .com of your keyword has gone; you can always build your keyword into a key-phrase which will work fine. Remember, the closer you are to what people actually type into the search form, the higher your chance of being found.</p>
<p>Example: how-to-change-a-light-bulb.com</p>
<p><strong>Watch out:</strong> don’t use Brand Names or Trademarks without authorization in your domain name. Google-Top-10.com would be clearly against Google’s terms as well as it would be sanctioned by law.</p>
<span id="Load_a_website_based_on_a_Search_Engine_Optimized_Script."><h3>2. Load a website based on a Search Engine Optimized Script.</h3></span>
<p>No doubt some sites do better than others and some scripts give you a fair advantage, namely if you are not a SEO expert. Semiomantics scripts, the ones I am using, have been developed to provide to anyone an optimized framework with high publishing power. The power of clean, search engine optimized scripts has been proven time and again and you will find many samples ofÂ  Google Top 10 performance by Semiomantics based scripts.</p>
<p>I put the script right on the number two position, because we have demonstrated that you can reach Google Top 10 simply with a domain and a script without any content.</p>

<p>My point is of purely educational nature: Renate is a dear friend and great marketer. But in a way she also is victim of ‘keyword-theft’, ‘name-theft’ or whatever you want to call a sly form of legal identity theft:</p>
<p>Large networks, such a linked-in, facebook, twitter and others grab your name to get <strong>their</strong> websites on top of Google under your neme keyword. Your site, having less authority than the big boys, falls back and often disappears from the top 10, even if you use your name as domain name. The big boys place their ads along with your name, profile or keyword and make the bucks while you, fooled,Â  have thought that they would help you to promote <strong>your</strong> business.</p>

<p>Observe that ranks 2–5 are monopolized by the big boys, leaving Renate just with the breadcrumbs.</p>
<p><strong>Result: the Semiomantics Framework does better even without any content, proving it’s superior quality and long term efficiency.</strong> So far for the Script test.</p>
<span id="Create_a_Clear_Keyword_related_site_structure"><h3>3. Create a Clear, Keyword related site structure</h3></span>

<p>Editing your content in an optimized way needs a little effort and is not as easy as it may seem: experience shows that many a great Author does not appear on Google Top 10 with brilliant content, just because the content is not edited in the best possible way. <span id="Publish_your_Content"><h3>6. Publish your Content</h3></span>
<p>It’s a bit like the Editing job; brilliant content, lousily published will just not make it. The quality of your publishing can be improved largely with a solid site framework, such as Semiomantics frameworks. Personal fine-tuning however will always make the difference. <p>Example: if your site is about “<a title="How to Publish your Newsletter" href="http://yorgoopublishing.com/home-business/how-to-publish-your-newsletter/" >How to publish a Newsletter</a>” then post about this topic as many posts as are needed to reach your Top 10 ranking, in stead of jumping from one topic to the next without ever reaching on any keyword an authority position.</p>
<p>YORGOO Publishing, another Semiomantics based site has reached rank 4 on “How to publish your Newsletter” with just one post, beating 242,000,000 competitors on Google.</p>

<p>Once you have reached your top 10 position, you must maintain it; just continue to publish once in a while, depending on the competition, a post targeting the selected keyword.</p>
<p>A campaign on a keyword is similar to promoting a URL: keep your focus until the goal is reached before you shift to the next keyword. If and when you shift, make sure you have the necessary resources to campaign for the next keyword while maintaining your achievements on the first target.</p>
<span id="Know_your_Priorities"><h3>8. Know your Priorities</h3></span>
<p>Focus on reaching Google Top 10 before you think about web design, graphics, ads and other distractions. If your site can not be found by searchers, no one will ever see your ads or beautiful graphics.</p>
<p>Priority number one is therefore: Reach Google Top 10!</p>
<p>Once you are there, you are interested in offering your visitors a good first impression: create empathy with your site design, look and feel. Aim to offer your visitors quality content and a positive surfing experience.</p>
<p>Only on the third level or priorities I put ads.</p>

<p>Applying the above rules, I have been doing pretty well over the years and I believe all those who have followed Ycademy Seminars and who have implemented the above on their own sites are reaching Google Top 10 positions … almost at will and more importantly: the Google Top 10 rankings have long lasting effects and that is where you make and save money in your marketing effort.</p>

<p>You want to reach Google top 10 ranking with your website? Great. And then, what’s next?</p>
<span id="Why_do_you_want_to_reach_Google_Top_10"><h3>Why do you want to reach Google Top 10?</h3></span>
<p>Ask yourself this simple question and create a relation between your purpose and your website. Different reasons can motivate you to storm Google: you want high visibility for interested people to find your content. You want to increase the readership to influence the way people think about a topic (opinion leader). You want to occupy space on Google Top 10 to earn money.</p>
<p>Fine, but how do you want to make money?</p>

<p>Let’s not go into keyword analysis and market assessment here; let’s just look at the mechanisms which allow you to make money from your Google Top 10 Position.</p>
<p>When people search Google to find a solution to a problem or question, they will end up on the Top 10 search return page. Your entry shares the benefit of that page with 9 other organic entries, maybe an authority entry as well as with some advertisers who pay for being listed on the right side of the page.</p>
<p>The more people search for your terms (keywords) the more the Google Result page obtains and the more you are likely to harvest your share of that traffic.</p>
<p>Some people will click on your Google entry and end up on your site, respectively on the specific page of your site which has made the race.</p>
<p>Your site has different things to offer to your visitor: Contextual Content, other content, Ads and Gadgets.</p>
<p>By Clicking on your ads or by following related commercial links from within your content, visitors will enter your sales pipeline. Depending on what marketing strategy you use, you may make money from every single click (pay per click programs, such as Google AdSense) or you may direct visitors to a sales page of yours (shop for example) or of a merchant you are an affiliate of. The Third possibility is that visitors click on ads you have been paid for to display by direct advertisers.</p>

<p><strong>Basically it’s your content which will make you earn a Google Top 10 position.</strong></p>
<p>Content is what Google is looking  for; a product review is a good example for strategic content. The content can be directly linked to a sales pipeline from within the post or page, by linking from within your post to your shop or affiliate program where the reviewed product is sold and from where you expect commissions (your shop, Amazon Affiliate Program, and many more).</p>
<p>In this case, the content has 2 functions:</p>
<p>1. It earns your Top 10 position.</p>
<p>2. It links to contextual sales.</p>
<p>This strategy is probably the most rewarding one, since the content (originally that’s what visitors came to your site for) takes the information a step further right to a sales pipeline.</p>
<p>The Problem is: you need to write good content to reach Google  Top 10 and you need to create the necessary empathy with your readers to keep them interested enough to follow your recommended links.</p>
<p>This strategy is compatible with all other strategies and can be used on any site format.</p>

<p>You are a fairly good producer of content, but your skills are not particularly sharp on writing ‘sales pages’.</p>
<p>Here the content transports your site to Google Top 10 but you will not focus on selling straight off your content (text), you may rather want to0 associate ads to your post, within the loop (post).</p>
<p>A contextual ad associated with a post is great stuff and still better than just being able to use the sidebars, headers and footers of your page. Such ads can have the shape of banners, text ads or flash or whatever you like and they can refer to your own products, other people’s products or advertisers, such as Google Ads.</p>
<p>This strategy is brilliant in as much as it can be associated to any content, even authorized syndicated content and it will work. Imagine you get a great product feed from a merchant to your site and you associate automatically relevant ads?</p>

<p><strong>How about headers, footer and sidebars?</strong></p>
<p>These are the most basic places you will find ads on and most webmasters use ads in their framework. Such ads can be contextual, such as Google Ads or they can just be ads promoting products and services of general interest to your readership.</p>
<p>The danger and main mistake you may notice is that people often exaggerate to such an extent that visitors will not look at the parts of your layout where you accumulate ads; in fact many a surfer has developed a reflex to smartly navigate around ads areas on websites.</p>
<p>The quantity of ads is less decisive than the quality, the editing quality! One well placed and edited ad may do much better than 10 ads which scare people away.</p>
<p>The Good News remains: such ads can be completely separated from the content and the extreme strategy would consist in overwriding the visitors original interest in your content with a new interest in what the ad or promo is claiming!</p>
<p>This is an incredibly simple concept allowing people without writing skills to monetize a Top 10 Position.</p>

<p>WordPress has just released it’s latest version 2.8 where a bunch of new features are available for the comfort of average WP users. The most important change is in the speed and in the fact that themes can be loaded and easily edited from the dashboard.</p>
<p>The name Baker has been added in honor of the trumpeter Chet Baker (not Brenda Baker for once, but I could agree with naming it just for our Brenda).</p>
<span id="Plugin_issues"><h3>Plugin issues</h3></span>
<p>Most plug-ins work well with WP 2.8. We have tested over 100 plug-ins on <a title="Yorgo Nestoridis web site" href="http://yorgonestoridis.com" >this site</a> so far.</p>
<span id="Feedwordpress_Problem"><h3>Feedwordpress Problem</h3></span>
<p>The Feedwordpress plug-in presents however a serious problem in the interface under Syndication Settings namely for individual links: the tag selector does not work and therefore tags cannot be added properly.</p>
<span id="Consequences_for_YORGOO_Press_YORGOO_Blaster_YORGOO_Booster_Semiomantics"><h3>Consequences for YORGOO Press, YORGOO Blaster, YORGOO Booster, Semiomantics</h3></span>
<p>All recommended plug-ins work with all our scripts except the feedwordpress as mentioned above. If you are<strong> not </strong>using feedwordpress, you may just upgrade your installation form the dashboard and appreciate the new features.</p>

<p>We will keep you posted about the fixes. As all scripts work perfectly well on WP 2.7.1, there is no immediate reason to upgrade and if you are using any of the problematic plug-ins, such as feedwordpress, just remain put; we are working on a fix and it’s probable that the feedwordpress developer will come up with a new version shortly.</p>

YORGOO_Blaster Plugin: add your ads as before, by following the instructions; you can load most any code,Â  java scripts such as Amazon, Google Adsense or custom made html code (edit an image with a link in html and paste the code into the ads fields. The HTML code is readable by search Engines!</p>
<p>10. Run your Blaster, check the performance on Google and enjoy.</p>

Bianca wants to focus on editing her original content and creations, rather than spending time on cleaning MySQL databases, maintaining a server,Â  upgrade plug-ins, tweaking and tuning, running after email server issues, or many other such tasks which are time consuming and which can be outsourced at a relatively reasonable cost.</p>

<p>The only Semiomantics theme we could not integrate to satisfaction so far is YORGOO Press, namely because of its extravagant dealing with images and videos. Future development may remedy.</p>
<p>The BuddyPress integration allows to meet people, form groups, exchange messages, wires and share blog content. BuddyPress puts the individual Google-efficient blogs straight into the context of a social network. Cross links to major Social Networks such as Twitter or Facebook provide completely new perspectives. One of the consequences is: the most incredible multi dimensional lead generating system (more about this aspect in a live call and at the next Ycademy Seminar).</p>
<span id="The_Ultimate_YORGOO_Media_Kick"><h3>The Ultimate YORGOO Media Kick</h3></span>
<p>With the release of VideoPress, YORGOO Media has the possibility to build it’s own streaming video platform integrated in right into the existing multi-user environment.</p>
<p>This is the most amazing add on to any publishing platform: get live video streaming to your site. But there is more: users can upload and share most any format of video, from YouTube to personal clips taken with the own video cam, from iTunes to windows media to mov and AVI formats.</p>

<p>To realize our plans with YORGOO Media we will need to build the necessary hardware on server side. Here an idea of the Architecture required:</p>

<p>The featureÂ  requires at least one file server and one dedicated video transcoder. Considerable amount of PHP coding and system administration skills are required to install, customize and deploy these modules. I let you appreciate the beauty of the architecture on the image above.</p>
<span id="The_cost_of_the_Project"><h3>The cost of the Project</h3></span>
<p>There are two main cast factors: hosting and development. Development can be kept low as we can do most if not all of the required tasks in house. Hosting is another issue: without the Video features we have reached the limits of a dedicated server with just 12 users who have loaded some 80 sites all in all and who have set up over 400 feeds coming in, without counting internal cross feeding. Massive pinging and links out complete the fast growing expansive communication network.</p>
<p>Our tests show that hosting cost will mainly depend of the features we allow users to dispose of. However, the ideal would be to preserve complete freedom of expression and publishing, using the best and most efficient techniques. To exactly evaluate such cost we need to run additional tests, namely with the video streaming feature in combination with the best Semiomantics features.</p>
<span id="The_Economic_Model"><h3>The Economic Model</h3></span>
<p>Cost for the YORGOO Media products can be covered in two ways:</p>
<p>Free YORGOO Media users with access to basic functions: Admin reserves the right to place ads to free sites.</p>
<p>Professional users with ads free sites will have to upgrade on a per feature, per month or per year base.</p>
<p>Partners: possibly we will have to invite partners to carry the cost of the network.</p>
<span id="The_Target_Customer"><h3>The Target Customer</h3></span>
<p>YORGOO media is for anyone who would like to publish in a clean environment, hassle free, branded and yet keeping complete control over content while participating in a Social Network of like minded publishers. YORGOO Media is also for Home and Small Business owners as it allows to create great visibility at the lowest possible cost. Networkers will appreciate YORGOO Media for its lead generation qualities as well as to communicate with co-workers and prospects.</p>
<p>Finally: private people who would want to share media and to use the Internet in a customized way, far from the big brother sites who tend to collect personal and behavioral data for their own commercial purposes.</p>

<p>Set up a few blasters and test the themes; we will monitor closely the behavior of the site and report back to you. the test phase is extended for another week, so the beta users have time to test grab as many benefits as possible. We are still struggling with some technical issues and the ride will not yet be as smooth as desired, the results however will be there!</p>

<a title="YORGOO" href="http://yorgoo.com" target="_blank">YORGOO</a> has been built for providing services building free viral traffic and to generate leads. The more traffic, the more leads and by logic the more conversion. The original formula is still valid and working brilliantly for those using the simple formula optimized by YORGOO.

However, since YORGOO has been created in 2005 the behavior of mainstream internet users has changed. Social Networks have become the main attraction online for the masses and the shift of traffic in favor of Social Media is easily traceable by consulting <a title="Alexa" href="http://alexa.com" target="_blank">Alexa</a>.

As a consequence we need to deal with the phenomenon of Social Media and find out how the social media frenzy can profit our purpose as online marketers and business developers.

Social Media Marketing is the new big key-word to describe a new branch of Communication and Marketing Science. As lined out in yesterday's YORGOO call, Universities start to teach Social Media Marketing; the Birmingham City University in the UK is offering a first MA curriculum starting in September 2009.
<h4>Free Traffic and Social Networks</h4>
One of the major issues is to figure out, how to profit from all the traffic easily generated on Social Networks. While we have been teaching targeted marketing for years, focusing on keywords, we must see things under a new aspect, which is targeted behavioral marketing and communication. Social Media Marketing is more difficult than traditional marketing for a simple reason:

<strong>People who join Facebook, Twitter and other social networks, don't go there to buy things or to be harassed by ads.</strong>

In fact they join social networks to communicate, to make friends and contacts for private purposes and obviously for the fun. But they also join social networks because it's free to join, or at least that's what most think and free is perceived as "without out of pocket cost".
<h4>YORGOO is easier to achieve results with</h4>

what have 20 Ycademy Seminar participants achieved, spending their time online with us this past week-end?

From the reactions I got so far, the Seminar has not just been an eye opener, but a huge workshop where participants have built some of the nicest websites I have evercome across on the bases of the new YORGOO Press script developed by Semiomantics. Online Publishing and Editing is as important as traffic. Traffic remains the primary raw material for any success online; but what good is traffic, if your visitor's eye-balls are not glued to the screen to find out what you have to say, to surf your site and to interact with you by leaving comments?

Sure you can do it all on Facebook or other Social Networks which are brilliant technical formulas and environments to meet people. <p>The fact to syndicate the same post into different frameworks will allow us to draw conclusions about the quality of the frameworks as well as about the way their configuration can be optimized.</p>
<p><strong>Bug Report:</strong></p>
<p>We are aware of some bugs which we will have to take care of. Here are two of the most obvious ones:</p>
<p>1 On the main page syndicated articles don’t display pictures, just the caption is visible.</p>
<p>2 Below the header on the Category Navigation bar, the first 4 categories show in alphabetical order (all other categories are not visible there).</p>
<p>3. The footer area deserves further attention</p>
