Theunis Minnie, ‘n fotograaf in die Mosselbaai omgewing, het geen bekendstelling nodig nie. Sy werke pronk al vir meer as 5 jaarin verskeie gallerye, huise en in verskeie trou albums. Tog is Theunis beter bekend vir sy unieke wyse waarop hy verskillende dele en onderwerpe wat eie aan Suid Afrika is weergee. Sy werke handel oor van Karoo Landskappe tot ou motors, geboue, windmeule en nog vele meer.

Dit is iets heeltemal uniek en boeiend. Staan jy en kyk na die fotos van Theunis Minnie se mees onlangse fotografie projek is dit kompleet asof jy weg gevoer word en ‘n wêreld betree wat net in elk van Theunis se unieke fotos bestaan.

Volgens Theunis het hy verlede jaar tydens die Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees oppad na Oudtshoorn verby ‘n plaashuis met ‘n soortgelyke sitkamerstoel voor die huis gery. Dit het dadelik sy oog gevang weens die uniekheid van die “uit sy plek staande stoel.”

Hy het besluit om verder te gaan met die konsep van die stoel en afgekom op die perfekte stoel in ‘n tweedehandse meubelwinkel in George, min het die stoel geweet wat alles vir hom voorlê.

Tot dusver was die Rooi Stoel al in die Knysna Woude, die baie bekende Cango Grotte, op die strand, tussen ‘n trop olifante asook in dele van die Klein Karoo. Theunis beplan om die land vol te toer met die stoel.

Die Reisende Stoel is n konsep wat baie mense aan die praat het in die Tuinroete. Maak seker dat jy jou eie kopieë  van hierdie gewilde fotografie projek van Theunis Minnie aanskaf.

Die Potjiekos Kompetisie van die Harten Paws Katkenades Fees te Hartenbos is een van die hoogtepunte van die Katenades Fees by die AKTV Amfiteater. Daar sal ‘n maksimum van 35 inskrywings aanvaar word. Inskrywingsfooi beloop R100.00 per inskrywing. Elke deelnemer is verantwoordelik vir sy verantwoordelik vir sy eie kookgerei, bestanddele, drom, vuur, gas en potjies. Elke deelnemer maak kos vir sy/haar aanhangers en moet net genoeg uit hou vir die beoordelaars.

Registrasie vir die Potjiekos Kompetisie begin 07h30 die oggend van die 2de Junie 2012 en die laaste registrasies sal 10h00 aanvaar word.

Die beoordelaars sal ‘n eerste. tweede en derde plek aanwys en daar ‘n groot pryse op die spel. Maar dus seker jy skryf vroegtyding in. Inskrywings sluit die 25ste Mei 2012.

Die oggend het afgespring met ‘n energieke Spinnathon wat gereël was deur Stiaan van Wellness World gym. Dit was gevolg deur ‘n MMA vertoning van Tiger Kai, wat vir heelwat opwinding gesorg het onder die toeskouers. Dynamic Dance Studio het ‘n dans vertoning gegee wat gewys het hoekom hulle al internasionale toekennings ontvang het, en ACE Models het daarna ‘n modevertoning aangebied en veral die kinders se deelname was baie gewild onder die toeskouers!

Deel van die verrigtinge was die tjek wat oorhandig is KANSA. Van alle gelde wat ingesamel was met die Biggest Loser kompetisie en ‘n spesiale Bra-Essensiële aand wat aangebied was deur Curves en Crazy Creatures, was ‘n gedeelte geskenk aan KANSA. Nicky Stears, ‘n baie talentvolle jong sangeres, wat die publiek die oggend vermaak het, het ook 30% van alle CD’s wat sy die oggend verkoop het, bygedra tot hierdie insameling.

Hiermee was stewige bedrag van R5000.00 ingesamel en die oggend van die verrigtinge het ‘n anonieme persoon ‘n addisionele skenking van R2000.00 bygedra. Die tjek was toe vir R7000.00 uitgemaak aan KANSA, en almal betrokke is eengesind dat hierdie slegs die begin was van ‘n jaarlikse fondsinsameling wat volgende jaar ten minste verdubbel moet wees!!

Die spanning het hoog geloop vir die finaliste, en om 12h00 het Claude Pretorius, ons MC vir die oggend, 10 dames finaliste en 5 mans finaliste aangekondig. Hulle was beoordeel op wie die hoogste % gewig verloor het, en daarna was 3 mans en 3 vroue wenners aangewys.

Daar is ‘n kontantprys van R5000.00 op die spel en deelnemers wat reeds deel was kan meeding vir die prys, maar enige nuwe persoon wat ook wil meeding vir hierdie prys, kan nou enige tyd ook kom aansluit, en met aansluiting kan hulle dan ook ‘n volle maand gratis gaan gym! Crazy Creatures nooi dus die publiek uit wat nog nie deel was van die kompetisie nie, om nou ook te kom aansluit. Wat het jy om te verloor, behalwe daardie lastige ekstra kilo’s??
