Although son of the legend Tolla van der Merwe, Wicus is a singer, song writer and comedian in his own rightSon of famous South African Afrikaans comedy legend Tolla van der Merwe, Wicus van der Merwe has developed his talents all on his own, as a singer / songwriter. Wicus went to the Army, University and then started working a couple of odd jobs. It was only in December 2004 that Wicus was approached by Select Music to record a couple of CD’s with them. Some of Wicus’s hit songs include : “Hie’ Komme Ding”, “Die Boesmanland Se Hanetjie Keurspel: Die Hanetjie / Boesmanland” and “Rebecca”.
