How to edit an Image in your Blog

Responding to Magnetic Transport Surplus as to how to edit an Image on their Blog – a new Semiomantics XO website – after having inserted it from the Media Folder … here are a few Tips and screenshots directly from the back office that will answer the question:

The problem here: The text is glued to the image.

What you do is hover with your mouse over the top left corner of the image in your editor and you see two little icons popping up. One is to delete the image and start again (if that’s what you want to do) or you re-edit the image you already inserted. As that’s what you need to do, click on Edit Image – and the Image Editor opens.

To edit an Image in your Blog as requested – namely to have some space between the image and the text in terms of horizontal and vertical alignment, you have to click on “Advanced Settings”.

Here you now see how you can add some Vertical Space – I added 5 – and the text immediately hops to the right, creating a fine space.

Now add some horizontal space – I added 8 – and the image hops away from the text at the bottom as well.  Once you are happy with the spacing, simply update at the bottom.

I advise you also tick “Open in a new window”.

That’s it – try it and do it blindly in the future. It’s all about details – but that makes or breaks a picture to be pleasant to look at – or to click it away and not get the message.
