Living in a very natural environment bordering on Silvermine Nature Reserve in Noordhoek, South Africa, and always planting with having “the birds and the bees” in mind, we attract many birds – including owls… even the Giant Eagle Owl – to our gardens. At night we often hear the soft hooting of owls and see their shadows sailing past the trees.
The above picture was taken in “World of Birds” in Hout Bay near Cape Town, South Africa – basically just over the mountain from Noordhoek -, where it is possible to get very close to these mysteriously beautiful creatures that have fascinated and inspired people of all times. The owl often symbolizes Wisdom; I chose another owl photo that I stylized as a backdrop picture for my Custom Bookcover Website HERE.
